GSCN-24-011-2DVerification - Verification template update - Sep 2024

Sep 3, 2026

Verification checklist template for GS1-compliant linear and two-dimensional barcode testing environments. Covers pass/fail outcomes aligned with GS1 symbol specification tables, required reporting when multiple tables apply, and compliance with GS1 barcode placement and location recommendations. Includes assessment fields for ISO/IEC print quality grades for linear (15416) and 2D (15415) symbols, decoded text checks, business-critical comments, and key ISO/IEC parameter requirements such as dimensions, quiet zones, contrast, modulation, defects, decode, and related ranges.

FAQs

What does the GSCN-24-011-2DVerification template require for GS1 barcode verification reports?

It requires pass or fail results verified against the GS1 symbol specification table, and a separate report when testing uses more than one symbol specification table. It also collects compliance notes and business-critical comments.

Which print quality standards are referenced for linear and two-dimensional barcodes?

Linear barcodes use ISO/IEC 15416 print quality grade, while two-dimensional barcodes use ISO/IEC 15415 overall print quality grade.

What additional checks are included beyond overall pass/fail?

The template includes compliance to GS1 barcode placement recommendations (including 50 mm radius guidance for multiple retail barcodes), decoded text review, and assessment of ISO/IEC parameter fields such as dimensions, quiet zones, contrast, and decodability requirements.
