Qualitative study examining patterns and borrowing processes of English words and phrases related to Covid-19 into Indonesian. Data were collected from mass media, official documents, public notices, and daily conversation. Using Haugen’s (1950) classification, analysis compared original forms with phonologically and morphologically adapted forms. Results identify loanwords, loanblends, and loanshift, each with distinct processes: phonemic substitution for loanwords, spelling adjustment and letter omission for loanblends, and loan translation for loanshift.
