Reader 1: A long time ago A learn to read book English In the beginning A long time ago there wasn’t anything much and it was dark. But God was there and he thought about making the world. On the first day God said, "Let there be light!" And there was light. God saw that the light was good. God named the light"day" and he named the darkness "night. " On the second day God said, "Let the water divide in two!" Some of the water was above the sky, and some of the water was below they sky. And God saw that it was good. On the third day God said, "Let the dryland appear . " He named the dry land earth and named the waters seas . God saw that it was good. Then God said, "Let the earth produce all kinds of plants . Every plant will grow its own kind of seeds and fruits .” And God saw that all this was good. On the fourth day God said, "Let the lights in the sky be separated into day and night.” The brighter light was to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night. He also made the stars . And God saw that it was good. On the fifth day God said, "Let the water be filled with living things—big ones and little ones. And let birds fly in the air above the earth—big ones and little ones . " God saw that this was good. On the sixth day God said, "Let us make a man and a woman . And let them look after all the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals . " And he blessed them . God saw everything and it was very good. On the seventh day God rested from all his work. He blessed the seventh day and made it holy. And it was all very good.
