Comparison of Growth Performance and Biochemical Components Between Parent and Hybrid Offspring in the Oriental River Prawn Macrobrachium nipponense

Three-line hybrid strategy crosses local populations of Macrobrachium nipponense to produce two F1 hybrid populations, which are cultured for 3 months alongside parents. Hybrid progeny show higher survival and growth performance (hepatosomatic index, weight gain, body length growth rate, specific growth rate) and higher biochemical indicators (triglycerides, total cholesterol, glycogen, lactic acid) alongside increased digestive enzyme activity. Hybrids also contain higher polyunsaturated fatty acids and eight essential amino acids, with elevated flavor amino acids, and higher expression of growth-related molting genes, indicating crossbreeding improves germplasm for stable multigenerational breeding.
