Peter and John were going up to the temple at three in the afternoon, the hour of prayer. There was a man there who had not been able to walk from birth. He was sitting by the gate called Beautiful, at the entrance to the temple where he begged for money. When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked them,“Sirs, please give” me some money. Peter said to him,“Look at us!” So he looked directly at them, expecting to get some money from them. Then Peter said to him,“I do not have any money, but what I can do I will do for you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you are healed. Get up and walk!” Then Peter grasped the man’s right hand and helped him to stand up. That moment, theman’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped up and began to walk! Then he entered the Temple with them, walking, jumping and praising God! When the people saw him doing that and recognized him as the beggar who had been lame, they were all amazed!
