Applying for UTS Early Entry – Edge We know you’re more than just a number. Here’s how you can give your engineering and IT application an edge. Your final ATAR score is just one indicator of your potential to be a successful engineering or IT professional. That’s why we’re looking beyond the classroom to learn what makes you tick. The Early Entry – Edge program is designed to help you boost your chances of securing a place to study an engineering or IT course at University of Technology Sydney. The program provides you the opportunity to secure bonus points that go towards your application. We look at a few factors when assessing your UTS Early Entry – Edge application. This includes your Year 11 results plus three criteria that can earn you extra Edge points: Subject grades (maximum 5 points): Good grades in STEM-related subjects can earn you Edge points. Women in Engineering and IT (maximum 10 points): This initiative is designed to improve gender diversity in engineering and IT. The Engineering and IT Questionnaire (maximum 8 points): Three questions that give us more insight into who you are and why you are passionate about studying engineering and IT. *Note: Edge points are capped at a maximum of 13 for UTS Early Entry. Submitting your subject grades and Women in Engineering and IT eligibility requires no effort from you – we get that information from UAC once you submit your application. The Engineering and IT Questionnaire is where you have the chance to really shine and tell us why you are interested in studying engineering or IT. Here’s how to submit your questionnaire: Fill out the below table with your questionnaire responses. Save those responses as a PDF. Head back to the HYPERLINK "https://www.uts.edu.au/study/undergraduate/admission-requirements/admissions-schemes/uts-early-entry-program" \h UTS Early Entry Portal. Attach this questionnaire to your UTS Early Entry application. You only need to attach it once (to your first preference) for it to be considered with your Early Entry application.Note: If you’re applying through UAC, you can also attach your Engineering and IT Questionnaire responses to your UAC application for consideration in UAC rounds. See instructions at the bottom of this document. Double check that you have filled out all of the required information for your UTS application, including name, date of birth, Early Entry application number, UAC reference number and contact information. Hit submit – and breathe a sigh of relief! Your application is now off for assessment. Ready to apply? Fill out the questionnaire on the next page. Remember, we want to get to know you, so be honest and – more importantly – be yourself. Good luck! What next? Applications are due by 11:59pm 4 September 2023. If your application is successful, provisional offers will be released starting 19 September 2023. Once you’ve received your provisional offer, you must also achieve a minimum ATAR of 69 to confirm your offer and meet the eligibility requirements. Full offers are released in mid-December. Are you applying through UAC? Want to submit your application for UAC rounds as well? No problem! You can submit these questionnaire responses through UAC to earn up to three additional adjustment points. Head to UAC, preference a UTS engineering and IT course, and attach this document as a PDF to your application. Once you sit the HSC and receive your ATAR, your application and questionnaire responses (if submitted) will be assessed and offers will be issued starting mid-December.
