The thesis title should be formatted in sentence case (i.e. only the first word and proper nouns should be capitalised). Present your name as it appears in your official UQ MySI-net record. Official name changes can be made through HYPERLINK "https://my.uq.edu.au/contact/student-central" UQ Student Central. The degrees listed must be tertiary degrees that have already been awarded. The name of the institution is not required. You cannot list the degree currently being examined. Include the year of submission (month/day is not required). List your enrolling unit. If you have any non-enrolling units (e.g., Centres), they must be placed on a new line below the enrolling unit’s name. The UQ logo provided on the Title Page has been approved by UQ for use in all HDR theses. Other versions of the UQ logo will not be accepted. Please do not change the size of the logo. You may add one additional image on the title page, provided it is small enough not to overwhelm the title information. Obtain copyright permission before inserting any image, and note any AI-generated images in the preliminary pages. Please do not add any other content or change the formatting of the Title Page. Preliminary Pages Do not modify the wording or format of any headings on the preliminary pages. Retain all headings in the order provided in this template. Replace text enclosed in curly brackets { } with your own content. Delete or replace any instructional text (displayed in purple) before submitting your thesis. Thesis Content Pages The remainder of the template starting with ‘Table of Contents’ is offered as guidance only and is not intended to be prescriptive. You may adapt it to suit the specific requirements and conventions of your discipline. The content pages that follow the preliminary pages are formatted using Microsoft Styles with embedded auto-numbering for chapters and headings. Page numbers have been incorporated to enable the automatic generation of the Table of Contents, as well as lists of tables and figures. Following publishing conventions, this template uses Roman numerals for the preliminary pages and Arabic numerals for the main body. Adjust the numbering as required by your discipline; however, please ensure that the title page does not display a page number. If you include blank pages in your thesis, please mark the page with: “This page was intentionally left blank.” For further tips and advice, please see UQ’s HYPERLINK "https://my.uq.edu.au/information-and-services/higher-degree-research/my-thesis" HDR Thesis Advice. If you have any questions regarding the template format or the required headings, please contact the UQ Graduate School via HYPERLINK "mailto:graduateschool@uq.edu.au" graduateschool@uq.edu.au.
