Lia Resti Andani investigates the use of the Group Investigation technique to improve students’ active English speaking skills in News Item instruction. The study determines students’ average speaking scores before and after the technique is applied and tests whether a significant difference exists. Conducted as a quasi-experimental study in grade twelve of SMAN 1 Tapung on September 20, 2022, it uses speaking tests based on news articles and SPSS version 16.0 for analysis.
