A structured test plan template defines how a program will be assessed from early planning through unit, integration, and system testing. It documents management certification statements, project background, purpose and scope, assumptions and constraints, roles and responsibilities, and training needs. The plan also specifies test environments and tools, the overall test approach and process, testing phases, and strategies covering entry/exit criteria, traceability, issues, and guiding principles, then details objectives, scope, scenarios, approaches, preparation, execution, data sources, deliverables, and responsibilities for each test level.
