FAQs

How should citations be formatted when a work has a single author?

Use the author name in the text and include the relevant year and page range in the citation format shown in the guidelines.

What should be done when a work has multiple authors or multiple works in the same year by the same author?

Cite all listed authors for multi-author works. When the same author has multiple works in the same year, use the letter suffixes (e.g., 2009a, 2009b) as indicated.

How are sources without an author handled, and how are translated titles treated?

When a work has no author, use the work’s title or a shortened version in the citation. For translations, include the translated title in the essay text and keep only the original title in the Works Cited list in brackets.
