FAQs

What work scope does Section 09 65 13.23 cover for resilient stair treads and risers?

It includes providing labor, materials, and equipment to complete the section’s work, including adhesives and accessories for installation, plus substrate preparation activities related to this section. It also lists specific related work that is excluded and assigned to other sections.

Which industry standards are referenced for testing and specifications?

The specification cites ASTM standards for radiant flux, smoke density, friction, stair tread requirements, durometer hardness, thickness, heat stability, chemical resistance, and moisture-related practices, along with NFPA 253/258 and CAN/ULC-S102.2 for relevant testing.

What environmental conditions must be maintained during installation?

Resilient flooring installation must occur after other finishing operations. Temperature must be maintained between 60°F and 85°F with ±10°F stability for at least 48 hours before, during, and until substantial completion, and relative humidity must remain between 35% and 65% RH while avoiding condensation from dew point.
