FAQs

What information must be included in a SAP appeal explanation?

The explanation must cover what happened (why the student could not maintain satisfactory progress) and what has changed (the corrective measures taken or planned). It must not be only general intentions and should include any supporting documentation when appropriate.

What should “What happened?” focus on?

It should describe circumstances beyond the student’s control that led to not meeting the Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. The form encourages attaching documentation to support the claim.

What does “What has changed?” require?

It asks how the student plans to meet SAP requirements in the future and what has changed to promote success, using specific corrective measures rather than vague statements.
