R-REC-M.493-12-200703-S!!PDF-E - Bit pattern and telecommand signal mapping

Sep 3, 2026

Upload by Finn

This document provides a structured mapping of emitted signals and bit patterns, including numbered symbol entries with corresponding “emitted signal” strings. It specifies how digits and character positions relate to signal components and presents a table linking format specifiers, categories, nature of distress, and first and second telecommands. The content covers routine, distress, urgency, safety, and other operational categories, including reserved and end-of-sequence scenarios, along with call content references to multiple tables and phasing sequences.

FAQs

What does the document’s “Emitted signal” section represent?

It lists numbered entries where each symbol corresponds to an emitted signal string tied to a specific bit pattern and ordering.

How are the digits for thousands, millions, tens, and units organized?

The document defines positional fields for character placement across D2/D1 groups (e.g., thousands of millions, hundreds of millions, tens of thousands, units) to structure encoded information.

What information is included in the tables that map telecommands?

Each row links phasing and unique functions with format specifiers and category fields, then describes the nature of distress and specifies first and second telecommands for the corresponding scenario.
