FAQs

What triggers capital project approval requirements in the initiation process?

Capital project authority is required for projects with budgets of $300,000 or more and follows specific project approval processes based on the project budget.

How is a new project created and recorded in the system?

The requestor submits a Project Request Form in ARCHIBUS; ARCHIBUS automatically assigns a project name and project number, notifies the Assistant Director of Planning by email, and logs the request in the Project List within a project report.

What checks are performed before a project is submitted for further administration?

Reviewers confirm a project sponsor exists and has approved, assess whether the proposed budget matches the scope, evaluate impacts from other in-planning/design/construction projects, and check for related planning or feasibility studies.
