Sep 22, 2026

Personal Response to Text writing guidance explains how to craft a critical yet personal-style essay by creating a clear theme or thesis, maintaining structure, and choosing appropriate evidence. The document outlines an introduction that begins with a general statement, briefly answers the question, and ends with a controlling thesis. Body paragraphs are organized into three parts—critical, personal, and universal—each with a topic sentence, explanation, supporting examples, and a clincher. A conclusion summarizes main points and adds a final thought, followed by MLA formatting rules.
