SESAR aims at developing the new generation air traffic management system capable of ensuring the safety and fluidity of air transport worldwide over the next 30 years. The SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU) was established by Council Regulation 219/2007 of 27 February 2007 for carrying out the development phase of the SESAR Programme. The SJU is created as a public-private partnership, which brings together all the stakeholders from the ATM community with the founding members of the Joint Undertaking-the European Union and EUROCONTROL. The mandate of the SJU is to modernise the European ATM system by coordinating and concentrating all relevant research and development efforts in the Union and execute the European ATM Master P
