Young, CEO/President The history of Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries, Inc. can be traced back to June 1957. An inspired group of women, The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Newark, saw there was an expanding number of disabled individuals who were unemployed. The Newark, Ohio area was expanding and to this day Goodwill has grown with our community to better serve individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment. Today, Licking/Knox Goodwill employs over 300 people. This includes administrative and management staff who oversee custodial contracts, retail locations and internet sales, security services, career services, automotive sales/service, maintenance, and a 32+ acre employee recreation park. Growing by funding education... The Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries, Inc. Foundation was established to support and enhance the organization’s mission by providing resources to support our employees and clients. This foundation gives preference to those individuals seeking education from trade schools or professional certiﬁcation. Starting October 1, 2014, our foundation was able to accept online applications from individuals across Licking and Knox counties. Lickingondoill F O U N D A T I O N • $607,789 Licking/Knox Goodwill Foundation 2014 Year End Balance. • 18 people began ﬁling scholarship applications. Growing by providing new products and services... Licking/Knox Goodwill offers nine retail stores and donation centers in our small, two county Ohio territory. In addition to our Color Tag Sales and periodic Bonus Sales, we now proudly offer new furniture at our Goodwill Unlimited and Goodwill Parrott Street locations. Goodwill Unlimited has even more to offer. To the rear of the building is a large green house used to grow ﬂowers and vegetables. And if that wasn’t enough... Goodwill Unlimited and Goodwill Plaza both serve as propane reﬁll stations. shhoopppprriittiinn,ta,ckkss, it go2 With our online auction business expanding, there was a need for a larger space with state of the art equipment. Remodeling of an 8,500 square foot facility previously used as a recycling center began in June 2014. With construction complete, Goodwill2Go opened in November 2014 on Wilson Street in Newark. Goodwill2Go posts all of our online auction items to shopgoodwill. com and also offers low cost copy, print, and shipping services. • 444,489 people shopped our retail stores. • 110,820 people donated to our retail stores. • 21,065 items were sold at auction on [shopgoodwill.com](shopgoodwill.com) Growing by acquiring new property... Licking/Knox Goodwill grew tremendously with the acquisition of The Grove by the River in October 2014. The Grove serves as a long term training and entertainment facility to beneﬁt Goodwill’s employees and the people we serve. Licking/Knox Goodwill is proud to be able to offer additional training and employment opportunities to our employees and other individuals in the community with disabilities or other barriers to employment. This property will create several jobs, serve as a long term training facility, provide much needed meeting and training rooms, and allows for a safe location for individuals with disabilities to enjoy the outdoors. Presented by Licking/Knox Goodwill Goodwill’s goal is to add additional training programs as well as employment opportunities for at-risk youth and individuals with disabilities.
