HALIC UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND BUSINESS GRADUATION PROJECT PROCEDURES AND RULES Section One General Principles Objective ARTICLE 1 - (1) The aim of the graduation project is to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired by the students throughout their education. Graduation Project Type ARTICLE 2 - (1) Graduation project can be prepared in two different formats: theoretical and practical. Graduation Project Duration ARTICLE 3 - (1) Graduation project starts at the beginning of the 8th semester. (2) The student is obliged to submit the project and defend it in front of the jury in the final week at the end of the semester. (3) The supervisor is obliged to submit all graduation projects to the Head of Department at the end of the academic year. Consultant Identification ARTICLE 4 - (1) The academic staff of the Department of International Trade and Business (Turkish-English) are obliged to act as advisors in the graduation project course. While distributing the counselling projects, it should be ensured that all academic staff have an equal number of students. (2) During the 8th semester course registration week, the student determines the advisor and the type of graduation project he/she wants to work with and makes his/her selection through the system within the quotas. If the quota is full, the quota cannot be increased without the approval of the instructor. Changes can be made until the end of the add-drop week. Evaluation and Grading of Graduation Project ARTICLE 5 - (1) Graduation projects should be also presented in accordance with the decision of the advisor and/or the Department Board. (2) Student who do not meet with his/her advisor at least three times during the semester and do not submit the progress report will not be able to present the graduation project and they be considered absent from the course. (3) The graduation project is evaluated out of 100 points; the score consists of the arithmetic average of the grades given by the advisor and the jury members, and the numerical grade is converted into a letter grade. (4) The letter ranges to be used in the evaluation are subject to the letter ranges depicted in Haliç University Associate and Undergraduate Regulations. (5) Grading in group graduation projects made will be made according to the division of labor of the students in the writing of the project and the attitudes during the presentation; students who make a group project can be evaluated with different grades. The theoretical graduation projects should be completed individually, and the application-type graduation projects as a group consisting of not more than 5 (five) students. (6) Projects that are not sufficient in the project evaluation may be given additional time for the completion of presentations with the approval of the jury. Section Two Graduation Project Graduation Project Proposal ARTICLE 6 - (1) Students submit their proposal files to their advisors within two weeks from the beginning of the academic calendar. (2) Students are obliged to indicate the purpose, importance, and method of the graduation project in the proposal file. (3) Students whose proposal is accepted start the writing process. In this process, the student is required to meet with his/her advisor on certain dates and inform his/her advisor. Students who do not attend the meetings at least three times and do not submit the progress report will not be able to present the graduation project and will be considered absent from the course. Graduation Project Rules ARTICLE 7 - (1) "Appendix 1 - Department of International Trade and Business Graduation Project Writing Rules" and "Appendix 2 - Graduation Project Writing Template" should be used for the rules to be followed in writing the graduation project.
