Membership • number of members • member retention rate (% of members that renew membership from one year to the next) • revenue growth from membership (sometimes GBCs can take a strategic decision to increase dues and focus on the larger, higher paying members and so their \# of members might go down but their revenue from membership might go up so its good to look at both of these to determine how well membership is doing) • diversity of members across the buildings value chain • satisfaction reported by members (through member survey) Financials • revenue growth • diversity of revenue (breakdown by membership, training & education, events, grants, other sponsorship, etc) Communications • number of media mentions • website visits • newsletter/communications opened/read • social media statistics Governance • Board sector diversity • Board gender diversity • Board turn over rates Projects & Partnerships • number of projects/programs that the GBC is running • number of members engaged in GBC projects and activities (for each project its good to set targets for how many members you would like to engage in the project and what successful engagement in the project looks like in order to make it valuable for the market and the amount of resources you are putting in to making the project happen) • number of active partnerships that the GBC forges to help achieve its mission Impact • number of people trained • hours or training delivered • number of people attending events • % of building stock certified green • square meters of space certified green • square meters of space registered green • number of events held contributing to the policy dialogue
