FAQs

What is the FSMA PSR add-on and who can use it?

The FSMA PSR add-on is a voluntary add-on that can be used by producers in the United States or by producers exporting to, or planning to export to, the United States. It requires the producer to have an existing GLOBALG.A. P. Integrated Farm Assurance certificate.

How is the FSMA PSR add-on assessed?

Producers are inspected/audited by GLOBALG.A. P. approved third-party certification bodies. These assess whether the producer complies with the FSMA PSR add-on and provide assessment results as evidence of implementation efforts at the farm level.

Does compliance with the add-on guarantee legal FSMA PSR compliance?

No. Add-on compliance is not an assurance or guarantee of FSMA PSR compliance. Legal compliance can only be determined by a regulatory authority such as the U.S. FDA.
