FILM CREDITS WORKSHEET - credit list template and end crawl instructions

Sep 1, 2026

FILM CREDITS WORKSHEET provides a structured credit-list template for student film productions, specifying how to format titles, order of title cards or end credits, and rules for including cast, crew, and acknowledgements. It sets strict constraints on readability, maximum line counts, and prohibits unauthorized joke credits or unapproved screen credit promises. Guidance covers additional crew listings, end title crawl timing limits, required post-production vendor credits (film processing, picture editing, audio posting), and standard legal and fictional-event disclaimers, including faculty-credit policy and school/copyright final cards.

FAQs

How should the film credits title cards be ordered at the beginning or end of the picture?

The worksheet specifies an order of title cards at head of picture, or an alternative order of credits at tail of picture, where principal credits appear only once. It also clarifies that the two options should not be used in addition to each other.

Who can be credited, and what rules apply to cast and crew acknowledgements?

All cast, crew, and acknowledgements must be listed, with no joke names or credits allowed. Cast should only be credited if they play speaking roles, and extras should not be credited. Donors of goods or services must receive proper credit with correctly spelled names.

What are the requirements and limits for end title crawl and required post-production credits?

The end title crawl must be limited to 60 seconds maximum, with no exceptions for crawl length. When relevant, the worksheet requires adding credits such as film processing by FOTOKEM, picture edited on FINAL CUT PRO or AVID XPRESS PRO, and audio posted on PROTOOLS. It also includes standard fictional-event and legal protection statements plus final card details like Produced at the School of Filmmaking and copyright year.
