Buildings proposed on properties located west of the 10%hillside slopeline as defined in the Cupertino General Plan that have with an averageslope equal to or greater than fifteen percent shall be developed inaccordance with the site development and design standards specified inSections 19.40.050 through 19.40.140 of the Residential Hillside ordinance,Chapter 19.40,or the R1 zoning ordinance,Chapter 19.28,whicheverspecific regulation is more restrictive. Public testimony received at the May 1,2007 meeting should focus on the secondreading of the R1 Ordinance amendment that encompasses the above language change.All other comments should be reserved for the future Council meeting when theR1/RHS Ordinance discussion is considered.That discussion is currently set forAugust 21,2007 meeting. Categorically Exempt Environmental Assessment: # DISCUSSION The Council responded to a request from several neighbors and continued this itemfrom its April 17,2007 meeting to allow more time for the neighborhood to reachagreement on the R1 hillside zoning issue.To date,staff has not received anyinformation or confirmation from the neighborhood committee that a formal agreement 17-1 has been reached.The neighborhood representatives will provide a status report at thehearing.If the Council wishes to consider any of the meeting results from theneighborhood committee discussions,it should schedule a separate public meeting inorder to allow proper public notification to be mailed out and allow staff sufficient timeto review the neighborhood conclusions. # ENCLOSURES Exhibit A: Revised Model Ordinance.
