COMPUTER APPLICATION
A computer application is a software program that runs on a computer or other electronic device. For example, Web browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari), email programs, word processors, games, and utilities are all applications. Word Processor, Spreadsheet, and Database
A word processor can be used to create research reports, business letters, fashion critiques, and runway dialogue scripts. In contrast, a spreadsheet can be used to track expenses and income. Yet a database can be used to create client lists, product inventory, and user logins.
App
App is an abbreviation for application or a piece of program software. It runs on the Internet, on a computer, on a phone, or on other electronic devices. Macintosh programs are called applications, and Windows programs are called executable files. Mac programs use the.APP file extension, and Windows programs use the .EXE file extension.
RESEARCH
Research is a major part of determining the right program for you. In addition, research is a necessary part of making many big decisions in your personal and professional life.
Postsecondary Schools
Fashion and textiles and design postsecondary programs require courses in computer application skills. You can investigate the required computer skills and start practicing with the programs while in high school. Research of postsecondary programs in textile and design include course descriptions, skills and activities, and specific degree programs.
􀀃 The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) at the State University of New York (SUNY) is a textile and design college that offers 40 undergraduate programs. You may select programs of interest and review course offerings for each degree program. By reading the course descriptions, you can determine if the skills and activities match your goals.
