Oct 12, 2026

This guide provides essential maintenance instructions for determining when to replace various types of forklift tires, including Press-On, Resilient, and Pneumatic models. It highlights safety protocols, such as observing the 60-J safety line on resilient tires, the replacement threshold for smooth Press-On tires based on original rubber height, and identifying wear indicators on Solideal Xtreme tires. By following these guidelines, operators can maintain optimal load-carrying capacity, ensure necessary floor-to-mast clearance, improve ride quality, and reduce shock transmission to prevent premature forklift damage and safety hazards. The document includes technical specifications and visual references to assist maintenance teams in identifying wear limits effectively, thereby extending the service life of equipment and ensuring a safer working environment in material handling operations.

FAQs

When should a smooth Press-On tire be replaced?

Camso recommends replacement when the overall rubber height reaches two-thirds of the original rubber height, as specified in published documentation.

What is the significance of the 60-J line on resilient tires?

The 60-J line is a safety threshold on the tire sidewall; wearing the tire beyond this point is a safety hazard that may lead to unexpected failure and potential forklift damage.

How can you identify when to replace a pneumatic tire?

Undamaged pneumatic tires can be used until the tread layer has been completely worn away, as wearing beyond the tread pattern poses a safety risk.
