FAQs

What is the '600' rule in astrophotography?

The '600' rule is a formula used to calculate the maximum exposure time before star trails appear in your photo, determined by dividing 600 by the focal length of your lens.

Why is white balance set to 3400k for night photography?

Setting a cooler white balance of 3400k results in a more visually pleasing blue sky, though it is recommended to shoot in RAW format to allow for later adjustments without image quality loss.

How can I prevent dew from forming on my camera lens?

Keep the lens warm by using dedicated lens warmers or storing spare equipment in a warm place to ensure the glass temperature stays above the ambient temperature.
