Welcome from Outgoing President Dionne Cross Francis; New Member Introductions a. President-Elect: Tim Urdan b. Member-at-Large: Christine Bae c. Member-at-Large: Jeff Greene d. Clarification of Voting Members (Still outgoing members only, though all can discuss.) 2. E3P Contract Work-Bev Faircloth ● Presents brief history of work (linked Here) ● First issue projected Janurary 2026 ● Can automatically renew for 2 additional years 3. Committee Reports and Requests (Form Responses Here) (File Uploads Here) a. No requests to discuss at this time b. Career Achievement Award-No Nominations This Year ● In the guideline, had to look into nominations from past years this cycle ● How do we identify folks and encourage nomination submission ● Beverly – EC committee to identify scholars for nomination ● Wade – update the call; we can also remove the form for nominee to sign that thereis no known “malfeasance” - Can put in the policy for us to be able to vacate the award if any wrongdoing surfaces ● How do we conceptualize the ‘lifetime achievement award” ● Alex – consider another named award title ● Simplify the process for nominator, reduce the requirements ● Jeff– EC and sit down ● Wade – we can crowdsource from the membership of potential nominees ● Beverly – a different part of the committee for recruitment vs. adjudication, so there will be less conflict with the two roles ACTION ITEM – Task the committee to redraft the call; rename to remove “lifetime”and consider naming it after prominent ed psychologist; Will consider additional recruitment steps if problem persists c. Discussing endorsement policy ● Michele Gill for BEA Board? ● A standing policy not to endorse anyone ● Annette – endorsement could potentially increase presence of division 15 members in the APA leadership ● Need clarity on who we will endorse ACTION ITEM – Wade will redraft the endorsement policy that we will retain the no endorsement policy for non-division 15 members. But, for long-standing APA members the EC will discuss and vote on non-exclusive endorsement ● Carla – endorsement certain issue at APA council – should the reps bring this up for EC discussion ● Dionne – EC should discuss and there are perhaps division 15 members who have relevant expertise ACTION ITEM – Carla and Jason will send out notice to membership about upcoming endorsements to inform and potentially get feedback prior to council meeting. The goal is for those feedback to inform relevant council discussion/decisions. 4. Budget Work (Alex List, Past Treasurer and Annette Ponnock, Treasurer) (Reviewable 2024 budget here) a. Overview of 2024 budget ● We are in good financial health. Net gain = $79,191 .33, consistent with past years ● Still waiting for some receipts to come in, so number might decreased ● Overall holdings 1.6M ● Holding 60,000 in checking, we could consider a partial amount for short-term savings account ● Long-term savings – APA is in the process of investigating the folks who have access (who are no longer APA members) to provide access to Alex/other division 15 members b. 2025 budgets ● Based on last year ’s projections, with inflation considered c.
