Winnie-the-Pooh and Some Bees

Sep 29, 2026

A.A. Milne’s classic children’s story “Winnie-the-Pooh and Some Bees,” with decorative illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard. The text opens with Edward Bear coming downstairs and being introduced to the reader, framing early dialogue between the narrator and Christopher Robin about Pooh’s name and what “’ther’ means.” The opening also establishes Pooh’s evening habits—sometimes playing games, sometimes listening by the fire—and begins a request for a story about himself.
