Study explores why physical education and sports teachers assign high grades and identifies factors behind this pattern. Using a phenomenological qualitative design, the research draws on interviews with 10 physical education teachers in Malatya during 2017–2018, whose average grade is 100 in the E-school system. Semistructured interview forms and descriptive and content analysis guide data interpretation. Findings show teachers believe they should not be graded in physical education, and limited measurement and evaluation literacy—along with high-mark practices in private schools—contributes to inflated grading.
