FAQs

What should users do before operating or servicing the marine diesel engine?

Check that the correct Owner’s Manual is used, read the book carefully, and follow the instructions for safe operation and service to avoid personal injury or material damage.

Why must the engine be turned off before starting most service procedures?

Turning off the engine and isolating the power supply prevents accidental start and reduces safety risks from rotating parts and other hazards.

What safety risks are highlighted regarding turbo and intake air pre-heating?

For turbo engines, never start without installing the air cleaner, and avoid foreign objects entering intake ducts. For intake air pre-heating engines, never use starting spray in the air intake due to explosion risk from hot-spot pre-heater effects.
