Viet Cong at Wounded Knee - The Trail of a Blackfeet Activist

Sep 28, 2026

This biographical work chronicles the life of Woody Kipp, a Blackfeet activist and veteran, as he navigates his personal history and identity within the context of Native American civil rights. The book details his upbringing on a reservation, his military service, and his subsequent involvement in the 1973 occupation of Wounded Knee. Through a series of reflective chapters, Kipp explores themes of social injustice, the struggle for tribal sovereignty, and the complex path toward self-reclamation and understanding. It serves as both a memoir and a historical record of significant Indigenous political movements in late 20th-century America.
