Troubleshooting Guide - How to Detect Possible Errors - LED Functions - Device Replacement - Where to Get Help

Nov 2, 2026

Troubleshooting Guide describes a Best Practice approach for quickly detecting and correcting faults in an existing ASi network installation. It guides users to consult the gateway first and perform a structured exclusion procedure, using LED status displays to identify whether power, ASi communication, fieldbus connectivity, and configuration are healthy. When no LED error is shown despite a fault condition, it directs to further help via diagnostic software, on-site support, and targeted device replacement.

Troubleshooting Guide This document is intended to facilitate quick and easy error detection and, in the ideal case, error correction. Based on the Best Practice approach, the gateway should be consulted first in the event of a fault, so that the ASi network of a installation can then be surveyed at a glance. The solution approaches in the document are intended specifically for faults that have occurred in a previously fault-free existing installation during operation. If necessary, further support is provided quickly and specifically via diagnostic software or personal support. FAQs

How can I detect possible errors on an ASi installation?

Start with visual inspection at the gateway using the LED display and apply a simple exclusion procedure based on the observed LED states.

What do the gateway LED indicators mean during troubleshooting?

The document explains the specific meanings for POWER, U ASI, ASI ACTIVE, FIELDBUS, CONFIG ERROR, and related Safety Monitor LEDs, including how “off” or “on” reflects whether power, communication, and connectivity are OK.

What should I do when no error is shown on the LED display but the installation is still in error?

Use the “Where can I get help?” guidance and contact additional support via diagnostic software or personal on-site support.
