TOYOTA AVENSIS COMMON RAIL SYSTEM (CRS) SERVICE MANUAL - Operation - January 2009 - Revised December 2009

Oct 28, 2026

Operation section of the TOYOTA AVENSIS Common Rail System (CRS) service manual, issued January 2009 and revised December 2009. The revision history highlights added visual contents (video/animation) and additional items under fuel injection control, including microinjection quantity learning control, learning-condition determinations, single microinjection operation, rotational-speed change detection via injection, and correction of injection pulse width and actual injection-quantity characteristics. The manual explains vehicle/engine model applications, system construction and operation, and exhaust gas purification system operation (D-CAT/DPNR, air-fuel ratio sensor heater control, EGR control, and DPF).

FAQs

What changes were introduced in the Common Rail System for the TOYOTA AVENSIS model change?

The maximum injection pressure increased to 200 MPa, the pressure discharge valve became common to all rails, the G3 Piezo injector was adopted, and microinjection quantity learning control was added.

Which vehicle models and engine models are listed in the application table for Avensis?

Avensis models ADT271 with 2AD-FHV (2.2L) and ADT270 with 1AD-FTV (2.0L) are shown, along with 2AD-FTV configurations. Production start is listed as October 2008 for the table entries.

How does the D-CAT (Diesel Clean Advanced Technology) system control exhaust gas purification functions?

The engine ECU uses sensor signals to control the exhaust fuel addition injector to purify NOx, HC, CO, and particulate matter. It also includes air-fuel ratio sensor heater control to maintain sensor temperature for accurate oxygen detection and EGR control based on sensor signals and engine conditions.
