“To Slay a Giant—Try Laughter” presents a satirical collection on political promises and public policies, built from excerpts of a more definitive work by Dr. Barry Asmus and Jerry Hill. The dedication frames free press and editorial resistance, while the preface describes how Congress-empowered planning and regulation shape the economy, environment, safety standards, wages, energy, anti-poverty programs, consumer protection, health care, housing, transportation, arts funding, and utilities. The table of contents outlines multiple thematic promises across Part One, Part Two, and Part Three.
