The first garden is the Garden of Eden. 1 2 In the Garden of Eden, there lived a man named Adam and a woman named Eve. God had created Adam and Eve to enjoy a relationship with Him and to take care of the garden. 3 God gave Adam and Eve one rule: They could eat fruit from any tree in the Garden of Eden except for the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. 4 But one day, Adam and Eve sinned (disobeyed God) by eating fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. 5 When they sinned, suffering and death entered the world. And because of their sin, Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden of Eden. Why couldn’t Adam and Eve follow one simple rule? Well, have you ever broken a rule before? Have you ever disobeyed God by stealing, lying, being mean to someone, or acting selfish? I know I have.
