The teachers taught the subjects and topics which they would otherwise have taught anyway, andreported the materials they used and how they used them.In addition to individual conferences duringthe year, three meetings of these teachers were held in each of the five school systems to discuss theproject and to formulate co-operatively the basic pattern of these instructional units.Try-out units weredeveloped, written, analyzed, and criticized. This series of instructional units—The Unit Teaching Plans-is the result.
