Service Training Self-Study Program 824803 covers the Volkswagen 2.0 Liter chain-driven TSI engine, focusing on technical description rather than repair instructions. It details key engine mechanical components including engine block construction, oil pan design, lubrication and cooling-related features, and explains major systems such as intake, fuel supply, engine management, turbocharging, and exhaust. It also outlines how to validate information via technical bulletins and latest electronic service data, while noting the program is not a repair manual and will not be updated.

FAQs

What is the purpose of Self-Study Program 824803 for this engine?

It provides training and technical information about the Volkswagen 2.0 Liter chain-driven TSI engine. It is not a repair manual, and the information will not be updated.

Which engine management system is described in the program?

The program lists the MED 17.5 engine control module, including hot-film air mass flow sensing with an integral temperature sensor and map-controlled ignition with cylinder-selective digital knock control.

What are the main features of the turbocharging and exhaust systems?

Turbocharging uses an integral exhaust turbocharger with a charge-air cooler and boost pressure control via an electrical wastegate valve. Exhaust includes a single-chamber system with a close-coupled pre-catalyst.
