The Sun That Shone Too Much, written and illustrated by Denis Wrigley, is a narrative children's book that explores the themes of heat and nature's reaction to an intense sun. Through simple, evocative prose and accompanying imagery, the story follows the sun's journey as it rises, gains intensity, and fills the environment with golden light and warmth. The book captures the transition from the morning awakening of birds and trees to the increasing brightness and heat of the day, reflecting a classic style of early education literature. Originally part of the Watford Campus Library collection at the University of Hertfordshire, this work serves as an engaging example of illustrated storytelling designed for early readers to understand natural cycles and environmental effects through a whimsical and creative lens. Its minimalist text and focus on atmospheric changes provide a gentle narrative experience for children, grounding complex natural phenomena in a relatable and accessible story format that encourages observation of the world's daily rhythms.
