They are stars. A star is a huge ball of hot glowing gas held together by its own gravity. These countless numbers of stars are incredibly far away from the earth. Stars come in diferent sizes, colours, temperature, brightness and sometimes have some unusual characteristic. The closest star to the earth is the sun . Although, like everything else in nature, stars are born, they live out their days by going through a life cycle and stages and then dies. Many years ago, there was an unusual star in the sky, and the news that it told was of the birth of a special king in Israel. Jesus was born in the little town of Bethlehem . Many people knew about this town but not all knew about the child that was born in it. Far away from the east, wise men used to watch the stars every night. They study the stars and planets to know and note important events. One night a new star appeared, one that they had not known or seen before, but they knew that something wonderful had taken place. This was a sign to them that a new king has been born; but they didn't know His name or the place where they could find him and they lived in a land far away to the east. But what did they do? The men got ready for a long journey. They packed everything they might need, and carried with them some precious gifts to offer to this new born king. Then they began the journey, lead by the star they had seen in the sky in search of this new born king. But where will they find him? Inspired by the star they had seen, they followed the star all the way as it moved towards the little town of Bethelehem.
