The Pushkins is a charming narrative centered on the lives and legacy of a family of Siamese cats. Originating from a memorial tribute to a young cat named Pushkin who passed away under mysterious circumstances, the work evolved over several decades into a literary piece intended to entertain both children and adults. The author, writing under the pseudonym Rosamund Cozens-Cugat, weaves a narrative that subtly mirrors the human acquaintances of the period. This 1995 edition captures the whimsical essence of feline characters, serving as both a personal homage and a creative exploration of animal personality. Through its historical context and the author's reflections in the foreword, the document offers readers a glimpse into a long-held project that finally found its way to publication, preserving the spirit of the cats that inspired it through humor, observation, and enduring affection.
