The unique gameplay and narrative features exhibited by different game genres have also received increasing attention from researchers. As an emerging genre of games built on mobile platforms, primarily adopting Japanese animation-style art, with characters and plots asthe core narrative content, Nijigen mobile games have demonstrated astonishing user engagement and commercial value. Due to their distinctive design and gameplay, Nijigen games create a story-centric fantasy world that differs from traditional single-player or MMORPGs(Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) . However, there is still a lack of research on the narrative aspects of Nijigen mobile games. Therefore, this thesis will focus on studying how Nijigen mobile game narratives differ from those of traditional console or computer games and how they provide players with a better immersive experience, ultimately leading to impressive commercial success. This thesis will argue that Nijigen mobile game’s narrative elements keep players motivated because it takes advantage of the platform and operations to make the game’s virtual stories more interactive with the real world, which includes time and spatial interaction with reality and the construction of an offline social space. Additionally, this thesis will propose a model for the construction of Nijigen mobile game narratives based on the analysis and argumentation of representative works, player community data, and case studies. This model aims to further substantiate the thesis and provide game narrative designers with a clearer and more theoretical framework.
