THE NOTES AND TONESOF OUR EVANGELISM BY THE REV.ROBERT FERGUSON THE NOTES AND TONESOF OUR EVANGELISMAND OTHER STUDIES BYROBERT FERGUSON To the METHODIST MINISTERIAL BROTHERHOOD—and to my Fellow Members of the F.K.一With deep appreciation of fifty years ofhappy fellowship and serviceand with tenderest remembrance of many who"oncewere comrades of our way”to whom I owe and ownan incalculable debt amongst whom I numberP.O.H.,J.G.,J.B.B.,J.T.,J.R.,A.S.P.,A.L.H,W.L.W.,G.B.,J.A.C.,W.R.M.,W.F.H.,G.J.,W.B.B.,A.H.,D.A.,J.A.A.,W.G.,W.B.,A.T., C.L.S.,J.B.,R.R.,J.A.M.,G.L.P.,J.E.N.,F.H, M.F.,S.J.J.,A.J.W.,H.D.,J.P.,and H.S. SURELY THEY ARE AMONG “THE HORSEMEN AND CHARIOTS ROUND ABOUT”WHO HELP US FROM“WITHIN THE VEIL.” FOREWORDBY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE SCOTLAND DISTRICTREV.CECIL D.EADES ONE of the high privileges of serving the Methodist Church inScotland is to share in the unique fellowship which binds ourministers together North of the Border. Perhaps geography and the smallness of our numbers makeus turn to one another with great eagerness, but no one haspaid a greater contribution to our happy unity than our belovedbrother the Rev.Robert Ferguson. Although in the fiftieth year of his ministry,in mind andspirit and keenness he is one of the youngest men among us.Time and again we have shared in his practical generosity, butalso in the richness of his mind and spirit. We have received so much from him in our Glasgow Fraternaland Scottish Ministerial Retreats that a number of us haveurged Mr Ferguson to put some of these treasures which haveenriched us into more permanent form. Although very widely read, everything has to pass throughthe crucible of Mr Ferguson's original and incisive mind. In short,he is a man who thinks for himself, and his expressionsand emphases are unique. To hear our Brother and see his radiant face as he speaks isa benediction, but I for one am devoutly thankful to have theopportunity of pondering frequently on the mature reflectionsof this humble man of prayer and prophetic insight CECIL D.EADES.
