Radiant Rubies explores what rubies are made from and where they are found. The text explains that rubies are shiny red gems used in jewelry, formed from the mineral corundum and colored by chromium. It contrasts ruby formation with sapphire coloration from corundum mixed with elements such as iron and titanium. It also describes major ruby-producing regions in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Thailand, and outlines how miners locate rubies near Earth’s surface using digging tools.
