Edison leveraged the electric chair to promote his direct current (DC) technology over Westinghouse's alternating current (AC) . The narrative highlights the execution of William Kemmler, the first person to be executed by electric chair, and the bizarre outcomes ofthe execution process, emphasizing the unpredictability of electricity's effects on the human brain. The chapter transitions into a broader exploration of neuroscience, asserting that our generation is experiencing a scientific revolution focusing on understanding and enhancing brain function. This includes the misuse of current knowledge and technology for neuroenhancement, as revealed through the author's experience with a DIY brain stimulation session led by Andrew, a proponent of this emerging trend. The author addresses the common myth that we only use 10% of our brains, clarifying that all brain cells are functional, yet

FAQs

What does Chapter 1 say about the electric chair and its broader implications?
