This Manual has been compiled in order to meet that need, thereby supplying complete, accurate, and comprehensivemaintenance and repair data to both car owners and profes-sional mechanics. The Driver's Instruction Book, which com-prises the first part of this Manual,is similar to the handbookprovided with every new TR3.The Service Instruction Manual, which comprises the second—and largest—portion of thisManual,is the official factory manual and was originally in-tended for use by dealer service departments.Owners of TR3sand the so-called TR3A or TR3B model willfind it informativeto read the Foreword to the TR3 Supplement, which appearson page 419. Today,in the nineteen-seventies,TR2s and TR3s are aseagerly sought after as they were twenty years ago when thecars were in production. This should not be surprising sincethere has never been a time during those twenty years whenTR2s and TR3s were not proving their worth. In 1965,fully tenyears after the TR2 was discontinued and almost five yearsafter the last TR3 had been built, the cars remained highlycompetitive in racing. In that year,

FAQs

Who is the manual compiled for?

It is compiled to supply complete, accurate, and comprehensive maintenance and repair data for both car owners and professional mechanics.

What are the two parts of the manual?

The Driver’s Instruction Book is the first part, similar to the handbook supplied with a new TR3, while the Service Instruction Manual is the second and largest portion, functioning as the official factory manual.

Why is cleanliness emphasized during repairs?

The preface warns against repairing on the ground or garage floor and stresses thorough cleaning before disassembly to keep road dirt out of working parts, since even small contamination can cause rapid failures.
