A first-hand editorially introduced account of the “Face to Face” interview between Nikita Khrushchev and Walter Lippmann, written after their meetings in private and later shared widely in print. The editor’s note frames the exchange as an uncensored, sobering blueprint of Soviet designs, contrasting Western and Russian interpretations of the “status quo” as both current conditions and an ongoing revolutionary process. It also recounts the second meeting at Sochi in April 1961 amid major impending events.
