This year’s theme, “Wings of Freedom” celebrates our rich American heritage and honors community leaders Major General William Lyon and Captain Eugene A. Cernan. The evening will begin with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by a gourmet dinner, live auction, and entertainment by the internationally acclaimed All-American Boys Chorus. The Orange County-based All-American Boys Chorus provides world-class music education and leadership training to over a hundred boys ages 8 to 15. Our choristers hail from 30 cities in the Orange, Los Angeles and Riverside counties, and reﬂect the rich diversity of our community. Since 1970, the AABC boys have shared their distinctive American boys chorus sound on 52 concert tours to Canada, Europe, Asia, and all corners ofthe United States. Over the last two years alone, the Chorus has entertained over 125,000 people. The summer of 2013 included concerts throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as seven music education workshops for students, culminating in a concert in Tasmania with the renowned Southern Gospel Choir. Fall and winter 2013 found the AABC kicking off Concerts for Veterans, in which the Chorus performed a series of concerts free of charge to veterans and active military – thereby saluting our nation’s heroes and providing our choristers a chance to meet and thank those who have sacrificed to secure our freedom. The Chorus also collaborated with the Pacific Chorale and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Handel’s “Judas Maccabeus” at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts, and in “A Charlie Brown Christmas” with noted jazz pianist and composer David Benoit at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center. In 2014 the Chorus has continued its Concerts for Veterans, performed a music outreach workshop and concerts for over 1,500 children at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, and inaugurated KIDSING, where AABC choristers interacted with and mentored boys and girls from the community in a one-day festival of rehearsals, voice classes and music reading workshops—culminating in a free concert by the children who participated and the AABC. Like many non-profit organizations, tuition and performance fees do not cover all of the AABC’s expenses. A revenue gap of approximately 25% needs to be covered through fundraising.
