The Album - Shadows of Memory

Sep 30, 2026

The Album - Shadows of Memory presents personal recollections from eight Holocaust survivors, shaped through a writing project begun in September 2004 at Holocaust Museum Houston. It grew from monthly writing workshops supported by a United States Holocaust Memorial Museum grant and culminated in a published collection. The director’s message frames the work as a responsibility to commemorate those who perished and honor survivors so communities never forget and never allow such harm again. Emphasis is placed on intimate, non-historical testimony that reflects how the Holocaust transformed lives, voices, and memory.
