The 1970-71 Study of the Status of Pre-College Psychology in the State of Florida - A Final Report

A survey conducted in 1970-71 investigated the teaching status of pre-college psychology in Florida secondary schools under the auspices of P.K. Yonge Laboratory School. A two-page questionnaire was distributed to 347 schools and returned by 217 (62.5%), then analyzed responses from 128 teachers who taught the psychology course. Findings report course availability, enrollment levels, teacher background, and course structure, concluding that teachers strongly requested support through improved materials and audiovisual instructional aides.
