Teacher Student Growth Minimums define eligibility criteria for a TIA designation and specify minimum student growth outcomes teachers must achieve. The Student Growth measure contributes 60% to the overall TIA score and is calculated at the teacher level using state, district, or third-party projected growth and performance expectations. Growth can be derived from STAAR transition tables, released tests, MAP-based assessments, TxKEA, TPRI, and portfolios, with rosters validated through PEIMS membership reconciliation.

TEACHER STUDENT GROWTH MINIMUMS To be eligible for a TIA designation, teachers must earn a minimum student growth outcome. Based on statewide performance expectations, TEA established minimum expectations for teacher student growth. More information can found in TEA's Student Growth Performance Standards document. | Recognized Teacher | Exemplary Teacher | Master Teacher | | --- | --- | --- | | 55% of students meet or exceed expected growth | 60% of students meet or exceed expected growth | 70% of students meet or exceed expected growth | TEACHER STUDENT GROWTH MEASURE The Student Growth measure counts for 60% of the TIA score to determine designation. As outlined in the "Student Growth Instrument" section below, projected student growth as set by the state (transition tables), district (released STAAR), or third-party assessment provider (MAPs) will be used to calculate student growth. Student growth will be calculated for all students that have a designated fall or previous STAAR (BOY) and spring (EOY) assessment. Student growth performance will be associated with a teacher or teachers based on the following enrollment criteria: • Teacher of record at PEIMS snapshot date (October), or • Teacher of record at PEIMS winter enrollment (February), or • Teacher of record at end of year test date enrollment (April), or Teachers will be required to complete a PEIMS Membership Reconciliation process to ensure that class rosters are accurate. Student growth will be calculated at the teacher level. If a teacher is assigned to multiple assessed content areas, the subject with the highest percent of the student growth content areas will be used for the student growth measure data. STUDENT GROWTH INSTRUMENT The instrument used to measure student growth is listed below: • TXKEA – K RLA • TPRI -1 & 2 RLA • STAAR Released Test – 3 & 4 RLA, 3 & 4 Math, 5 & 8 Science, 8 History, Biology, and US History • STAAR/EOC Transition Tables – 5-8 Math, 5-8 ELAR, Algebra I, English I, and English II • NWEA-MAP Growth – Geometry and Algebra II • Portfolios – SSC Rdg PreK-12 CALCULATING STUDENT GROWTH For STAAR Transition Tables, student growth is calculated as the percentage of students that show as Some Progress (1/2), Expected Progress (1) or Accelerated Progress (2 or 3) for their overall gain score from the previous year's STAAR score to the current year's STAAR score in the same subject. This measure is calculated by TEA, not the district. For STAAR released tests, student growth is calculated as the percentage of students that meet or exceed the district determined growth standards determined by Wall ISD. These standards will beset in the fall based on a Graduated Percent Increase Growth Model. For 3rd Party Growth (MAPs, TxKEA, and TPRI), student growth is calculated as the percentage of students that meet or exceed their projected growth from the fall/BOY administration to the spring/EOY administration based on the standards set by the 3rd party company. 􀜲􀝁􀝎􀜿􀝁􀝊􀝐􀜽􀝃􀝁 􀝋􀝂 􀝏􀝐􀝑􀝀􀝁􀝊􀝐􀝏 = 􀜰􀝑􀝉􀜾􀝁􀝎 􀝋􀝂 􀝏􀝐􀝑􀝀􀝁􀝊􀝐􀝏 􀝓ℎ􀝋 􀝉􀝁􀝐 􀝋􀝎 􀝁􀝔􀜿􀝁􀝁􀝀􀝁􀝀 􀝃􀝎􀝋􀝓􀝐ℎ 􀝁􀝔􀝌􀝁􀜿􀝐􀜽􀝐􀝅􀝋􀝊 􀜶􀝋􀝐􀜽􀝈 􀝊􀝑􀝉􀜾􀝁􀝎 􀝋􀝂 􀝏􀝐􀝑􀝀􀝁􀝊􀝐􀝏 􀝓􀝅􀝐ℎ 􀜽􀝊 􀝁􀝔􀝌􀝁􀜿􀝐􀝁􀝀 􀝃􀝎􀝋􀝓􀝐ℎ 􀝏􀜿􀝋􀝎􀝁 (􀝓ℎ􀝋 􀜿􀝋􀝉􀝌􀝈􀝁􀝐􀝁􀝀 􀝐ℎ􀝁 􀝂􀝅􀝊􀜽􀝈 􀜽􀝏􀝏􀝁􀝏􀝏􀝉􀝁􀝊􀝐) STUDENT GROWTH RUBRIC | Percent Met Growth | Composite Score Translation | Percent Met Growth | Composite Score Translation | Percent Met Growth | Composite Score Translation | Percent Met Growth | Composite Score Translation | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 0% | 0.69 | 21% | 1.83 | 42% | 2.97 | 63% | 4.11 | | 1% | 0.74 | 22% | 1.88 | 43% | 3.02 | 64% | 4.16 | | 2% | 0.79 | 23% | 1.93 | 44% | 3.07 | 65% | 4.22 | | 3% | 0.85 | 24% | 1.99 | 45% | 3.13 | 66% | 4.27 | | 4% | 0.90 | 25% | 2.04 | 46% | 3.18 | 67% | 4.32 | | 5% | 0.96 | 26% | 2.10 | 47% | 3.24 | 68% | 4.38 | | 6% | 1.01 | 27% | 2.15 | 48% | 3.29 | 69% | 4.43 | | 7% | 1.07 | 28% | 2.21 | 49% | 3.35 | 70% | 4.49 | | 8% | 1.12 | 29% | 2.26 | 50% | 3.40 | 71% | 4.54 | | 9% | 1.17 | 30% | 2.31 |
