The school is on a 10.9ha site inthe Teja sub-district.Construc-tion began on Nov 13,2000,at acost of RM30.4 million. SBPi Gopeng operated admin-istratively in December 2002 andtook in its first students,consist-ing of 89 First Formers and 81Fourth Formers,with 10 teacherson Feb17,2003. The school now has a total en-rolment of 590 students,with 55teachers and 16 support staff. Earlier,Fadhlina in her speechsaid the country was in an era ofchange and the challenges in ed-ucation would increase. She said the use of technology was inevitable amid theimpact ofthe Covid-19 pandemic. “The expanding influence ofinformation and communicationtechnology,software and deviceshas changed the landscape of hu-man capital development,espe-cially in education. "Various initiatives have beenimplemented to prepare chil-dren. “Among them is the launch ofthe Digital Education Policy(DPD),with one objective beingto produce digitally literatestudents with integrity andethics. "The ministry is preparing theeducation reform agenda,drivenby six directions. Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah yesterday graced the launch of Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Gopeng.His Royal Highness was accompanied by Raja PermaisuriPerak,Tuanku Zara Salim. Present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and her deputy,Wong Kah Woh.BERNAMA PIC "They are Digital Education;Science,Technology,Engineer-ing and Mathematics(STEM)Curriculum Empowerment;Technical and Vocational Educa-tion and Training Programmes;Strengthening Bahasa Melayuand English Language;Strength-ening Preschool Expansion;Ed-ucational Plans,and CurriculumIntervention Schooling.” Fadhlina said allthis was aimedtowards building a Madani gen-eration based on the principles ofhumane education. “Building a holistically superi-or future generation is crucial.And education is not like a print-ing factory—it is a humane,life-long learning process.”
